Remote Tools

Remote Registry

Use the Right Click Tools Remote Registry tool to view, create, edit, and delete registry keys and values on remote devices. This feature runs optimally over the Recast Agent route, which circumvents the direct network connectivity and admin permissions required to use Windows Remote Registry.

Prerequisites

  • Licensing: Available with Right Click Tools Enterprise licenses (except Legacy subscriptions). Right Click Tools Community users will see the feature in Right Click Tools but, without Recast Agent, it will have the same direct network connectivity requirement as Windows Remote Registry.
  • Right Click Tools Enterprise deployed via Recast Management Server or Recast Cloud
  • Recast Agents deployed to devices (strongly recommended)
NOTE: If not using Recast Agent, RCT Remote Registry requires network connectivity and administrator permissions on the target device.
  • You'll also need to enable the Windows Remote Registry service and have it running on the target device.
  • Minimum Recast Software version: 5.12.2608.1403
  • Minimum Right Click Tools browser extension version: 3.3.0.0

Run the Remote Registry Tool

To run the tool:

1. Right-click on a single device.

2. Select Right Click Tools > Remote Tools > Remote Registry.

This feature is designed to run on one device at a time.

Running this action on many devices at once will open multiple windows, which isn't a great experience.
