Automate Application Workspace Setup with PowerShell

The PowerShell script detailed in this article automates the initial setup and configuration of a Application Workspace System, streamlining tasks such as identity source integration, connector creation, scheduled task setup, access policy assignment, application deployment, and portal branding. The script fully configures the Application Workspace by collecting user input through a graphical interface, installing necessary modules, connecting to the workspace, setting up Azure AD identity sources, creating and publishing smart icons and packages, importing and tagging applications, assigning user and admin permissions, and customising the Application Workspace’s appearance—ultimately delivering a ready-to-use, branded Application Workspace with all essential components in place.
