A

Active Directory

Active Directory (AD)

Active Directory is a directory service developed by Microsoft for Windows that enables administrators to manage permissions and access to network resources.

Recast Agent

Agent

A Windows service that runs as the local system. Designed to be installed on every device within an organization. Recast Agent enables actions to be run on computers in untrusted domains, on computers that the user does not have administrator permissions to, and on computers that have more restrictive firewall rules in place. Recast Agent is used to collect Endpoint Insights inventory data from the device, and provides end users with a way to self-elevate credentials when using Privilege Manager.

Agent Gateway

A Recast Agent Gateway is an on-premises component that connects your Recast Management Server to your Recast Agents. An Agent Gateway is a secure communications path for Agent authentication and authorization, Agent licensing, directing Recast actions to Agents, extending Agent connectivity to the Internet, and connecting Agents with other Recast components.

A Windows service that allows Recast Management Server-initiated actions to run as a service account. Required for scheduled tasks, scopes, and service connections. Recast Proxy is leveraged by Right Click Tools, Endpoint Insights, Privilege Manager, and Application Manager.

Recast Management Server

RMS

The central component in the Recast on-premises infrastructure. It is an ASP.NET Core, IIS hosted website that manages licensing, auditing, authentication and authorization for all other Recast components. The Recast Management Server web interface lets users monitor and configure Recast Software features.
