Unfortunately, the installation of Dropbox doesn’t have switches or registry settings to tailor the application. The only switch you can use is /S, to install silently.

INSTALLATION NOTES:

  • Dropbox doesn’t install in ’Program Files’ but in Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Dropbox

  • Dropbox updates itself automatically. And because it’s installed in the ’Users’ directory, no matter what rights the user has to install applications, he always has rights in his user directory. So there is no way to prevent Dropbox from updating itself.

You have to install Dropbox with user rights, not administrator ones. Unfortunately, you lose the shell extension, but otherwise the application will not install properly.
