The Remote Software Center was introduced in Right Click Tools version 4.1.1912. It has similar functionality as the local Software Center application with the ability to be run remotely from the administrator console and at scale on numerous devices or device collections. You can view and install deployed applications and programs, available software updates, and view and run deployed task sequences. It has similar functionality to the local Configuration Manager control panel to check the target machine against deployed compliance policies.
You can open the Remote Software Center by right clicking on a device or collection and selecting "Client Tools" and then "Remote Software Center." Remote Software Center uses remote WMI to populate its contents and to run its actions.
Clicking on the Applications section on the left side of the Remote Software Center window will show applications that have been deployed to the device(s) that you have selected in the ConfigMgr console.
In version 4.1 and earlier, Remote Software Center only displayed applications that have were deployed to the device(s) that were selected when you right clicked in the ConfigMgr console. Versions 4.2 and later add a drop down to search for applications that are deployed to the user who has opened Remote Software Center from the console, or as the user who is currently logged into the computer.
With version 4.2 and newer you can see applications that have been deployed to Devices and to Users. To select between the Device, the ConfigMgr console user and the user currently logged into the computer you selected when running Remote Software Center, you can click on the dropdown menu to the left of the "Refresh" Button on the screen.
Clicking on the Software Updates section on the left side will populate software updates that are available for your device(s). You can then click to install one update at a time, or select all to install all missing updates. You may also select specific computers to install updates on if you selected more than one device when opening the Remote Software Center.
Clicking on the Task Sequences section on the left side will populate task sequences that are available for your device(s). You can then click to start the task sequence of your choosing. You may also select specific computers to start Task Sequences on if you selected more than one device when opening the Remote Software Center.
Clicking on the Compliance section on the left side will populate compliance policies that are available for your device(s). You can then click to start the compliance policy of your choosing. You may also select specific computers to start compliance policies on if you selected more than one device when opening the Remote Software Center.
To interact with the populated tabs (for example to install applications), you may need additional permissions.
