User Tools: Change Password
What it does:
The Change Password tool is a user action that allows an SCCM user to change another user's password. Options are available for specifying the new password, forcing the user to change it at next logon, and for unlocking the account if it is currently locked.
How it does it:
This tool completes this action by connecting to Active Directory to execute the password change and specified options.
Navigate to the Change Password tool by right clicking on a User Object, selecting Recast RCT, and selecting Change Password.
[IMPORTANT] The Change Password Tool can be run on multi-selected User Objects, but not User Groups or User Collections. Multi-selecting User Objects will return multiple dialog boxes.
When the action is run, the following dialog box will open:
The Change Password tool requires the following permissions:
- Requires the Reset Password permission in the Active Directory plugin.
- This action requires reset user password permissions on the Active Directory object. If using a service account, the service account needs the reset user password permissions on the AD object.

This tool requires you to type a new password and to confirm it. If the passwords don't match, the following error will occur:
