Client Tools: Open Client Log File Folder
What it does:
The Open Client Log File Folder tool allows a console user to open the file location of the Client log on a remote device.
How it does it:
This tool completes this action via Remote WMI and Filesystem.
Navigate to the Open Client Log File Folder tool by right clicking on a Device Object, selecting Recast RCT, then Client Tools, and finally selecting Open Client Log File Folder.
The Open Client Log File Folder tool can be run on single devices or multi-selected devices. There is no option currently to run this tool on a device collection.
When the action is run, the folder containing the Client logs will be opened directly.
The Open Client Log File Folder tool requires the following permissions:
- Requires the Open C$ Share permission in the Local Actions plugin.
- This action requires that the user running the console have permissions to browse the c$ share on the remote device. Typically this means the user requires administrator permissions on the remote device.
This is the case even if using a Recast Server with a service account because this action launches an application outside of Recast. If the user does not have permission, a prompt will open asking for a username and password to try to successfully connect to the remote device.
